I have a year old dog that I haven't had neutered yet...?

She went into heat at 10 months and they have an unnutered dog in the downstairs apartment . Its been a couple months now and shes not bleeding anymore but she is whimpering and sleeping a lot. She still eats normal and plays though. Could she b pregnant?? What are the side effects of dog pregnancy?
Answers:
She might be pregnant if you let her around the neighbours dog. She could also be going thru a "phantom pregnancy" where the dog's body tells her she pregnant but she's not.

The gestation period in dogs is 58-68 days (7-8 weeks).

BTW, female dogs are spayed, male dogs are neutered.

Take her to the vets and find out.
Dogs sleep alot anyway it doesn't mean she's pregnant unless she got out while in heat. Some dogs will whine when they want to get out because they smell another dog .
maybe but if she sin't maybe it's a hint that u need to her spade.
You both should have you dogs spade and neutered. Then you wouldn't have to wonder if she was pregnant or not.

You can get a low cost spaying from your humane society..
If I'm not mistaken, a dog's gestation period is about two months..So you should be finding out soon if she did get pregnant. If she isn't this time I'd bring her to the vets and neuter her.
I would have her checked especially if she still has any kind of discharge coming from her vaginal area. It's not too late to have her spayed. Dogs can be fertile (able to get pregnant) up to 6 weeks after her heat cycle ends and she stops bleeding! Good luck :-)
OK, by the fact that there is an unneutered male dog downstairs I am assuming that they were "together" when she was in heat?? Side effects of pregnancy are weight gain, increase in mammary tissue and of course - puppies! Dogs are pregnant around 66 days, so you would have to figure out how long ago she was in heat to see if she is pregnant. I would recommend you having her spayed. If you feel that there is something wrong with her medically - make an appointment at your veterinarian.
Do you mean she stopped bleeding after her first menstrual cycle? Dogs typically only go into heat twice a year, unlike humans.

Female dogs go through the same hormonal changes even if they are not pregnant. However, there is a blood test that will detect "relaxin," a hormone found only in pregnant females. X-rays and ultrasounds will also clarify if she is pregnant.

If it has been a few months, she should have gained a lot more weight. The area around her abdomen with have swelled by 20-30 days. If you feel around the uterine swelling you'll most likely feel lumps.

Gestation period is around 53-68 days.

Side effects of pregnancy is puppies (lol).

If it's been two months since she's been with the boy dog, she should look very pregnant by now, she would be almost ready to give birth.

Take her to the vet to be sure. If she's sleeping too much it may be a sign that she's not all well.

It may also be that she's outgrowing her puppy energy and is starting to mellow out.
Please take her to the vet and get her spayed. There is no reason a 10 month old dog isn't spayed. Too many animals in the world today getting euthanized/killed at shelters because there are too many dogs and not enough homes. Please do the responsible thing.
The main side effect is that they have puppies.
The only side effect to pregnancy is puppies. You should get her spayed. Generally they only bleed for 7 days, so the fact that she's not bleeding anymore is ok. If she was around the un-nutered male down stairs then yes she may be prego, theres no way to tell until she starts to mature a bit to show signs.
