If you want high quality foods you should try either Canidae, Innova, or Wellness. They are more expensive but much healthier. In the long run, you are better off investing in good quality dog foods.

You are talking about a red nose pitbull right? I am guessing so. You want to feed them puppy chow for large breeds Science diet sells it also you can try other things such as Iams you just want to make sure and get her large breed chow for puppies. Also if you go to the local feed store you can get her vitamin supplements because pitbulls need more nutrition because they are such a large breed dog. We also give our dog Dyne which is a strong Dog vitamin supplement and he put on tons of weight. He is 7 months and already weighs 70 pounds.
with all the recalls i would stick to purina puppy chow for dry and make her wet food(chicken,carrots,rice,eggs... meat, broccli) thats how i feed my pit, he get most of his nutrition from what i make him, and he loves veggies, dogs need them too! since she is young make it mushy for a while and be careful not to overfeed her, any further pit related questions feel free to contact me
Find a dry food that its first ingredient is a meat product. My dogs love Nutro Max beef dry dog food. Try to stay away from food that it's first ingredient is ground yellow corn. You should feed a puppy food till she's a year older a little longer. Dry foods are better for the Dogs teeth,and it satisfies their need to chew.

I was a first time owner a while ago too. I actually asked the "what to feed" question of my trainer. She said a lot of behavioral issues can be handled by feeding your dog a quality dog food.
No Iams, no Purina, no Eukanuba, no Science Diet. In fact, if you can find the food at your grocery store or conglomerate store (like Petsmart or Petco) it's not fit to feed your animal.
Look for HUMAN GRADE PROTIEN - you basically want a dry kibble that is fit for a human. Look for foods that claim to be holisitc. Great foods to consider are: Innova (we like the EVO), Artemis, Canidae and Wellness. Make sure you're feeding "Large Breed Puppy" until the pup is 12-18 mos. old.
Make sure you avoid anything that says simply "meat" or "byproducts." You will find the foods that I've suggested have not been affected by these petfood recalls because they do not use the 'fillers' that the cheaper foods use to make your dog 'feel' full, when in fact they're lacking nutrition.
The quality foods are much more expensive - but your dog will eat less food to feel full - AND less food means less waste - not to mention that a greater quantity of the food can be digested - so that means less will be coming out of it's backend.
