I have a rednosed pitbull that is NOT neutered yet.need advise?

My pitbull is aggresive towards EVERYONE and we NEVER trained him to be that way..I know he's a pitbull and that "may" be why??? I guess he's just being very protective towards us and I think he needs to be neutered because he IS SO aggresive. HE is VERY sweet toward my family and my best friend but that's about it! We take him outside to play often and loves to go for car rides often! Whenever someone tries to approach the car to say how beautiful he is he growls and barks like crazy! He's not around other people just us BECAUSE of his aggresion...will neutering him help at all?
Answers:
First, remember that many years ago pit bulls we bred to be aggressive towards other dogs, not people. It is a myth that pit bulls are genetically predisposed to be aggressive towards humans.

When their handlers entered them into a fighting ring to fight another dog, they eventually had to pick the dogs up to end the fight. Obviously, they didn't want their dog to bite them after the fight, so those dogs exhibiting any aggression towards their master were not bred. Therefore, pit bulls were selected for aggression towards dogs but not people.

To answer your question in a word, "no", neutering will not help. Neutering is still a very good idea to prevent other health related problems, however. I have seen many breeds (labs, mastiffs, etc.) that exhibit this same tendency. You will just have to learn to be careful when visitors come over.
It might help but your dog also needs some serious training for that. He thinks he is the alpha male in your home which means he thinks he is in charge. This can be corrected with good and consistent training
Take him to the Vet and see what he/she suggest.
neutering will help. Neutering when they are YOUNG helps more than when they are older. Getting formal training will help even more.
Do you tell your dog 'no' when he growls, snaps at people?
It may help some but your dog needs to be trained by a professional. Is he socialized, exercised, inside or outside dog. These things could be reason for some of the aggression. I would talk to a vet and a trainer.
He should be definitely be neutered for two reasons. First, it may reduce the amount of aggression and second, any dog that aggressive should never be bred or have the potential for an accidental breeding.

You should also work with a professional trainer to train your dog to respond better to your commands. When he acts aggressively, he is basically saying he is in charge. You need to teach him that you are the pack leader and you decide who is allowed to approach and who is not. It is not his decision to make. A good trainer who is firm but gentle and experienced with aggression may be able to help him, though he may never be 100% safe around others. Call your vet or humane society and see if they can recommend someone. It's best to address this so that you have less risk of someone getting hurt.
being a pit bull owner, yes fixing him might slow down the aggresiveness.cause there is only one thing on his mind, and we know what that is.however him not being around other people ,puts him on guard.thats how they train watch dogs.they lock them up when someone comes around they dont want the dog to know, and they let it out when they want the dog to know you.fix him it might ,change him completely. good luck

First and foremost...did you get him from a registered breeder? If not, then he might have come from an aggressive bloodline. If you have, then I suggest that you contact the breeder and explain what his behavior is and if they have had any problems with others from the same litter.
He is showing alpha dog issues, so stern and constant training should correct this type of behavior. You should take him to a qualified trainer who has had experience with aggressive dogs. He must learn he is not in charge and must behave around everyone.
Neutering will help some but remember the hormones are in his system and will take a few months to work their way out. So don't expect his behavior to change overnight.
Don't let anyone tell you that his breed is the reason for his behavior. All dogs try to control their family.
You must correct this and not blame the dogs breed.
I wish you luck and hope everything works out.
