I have lost my papers for the AKC/CKC puppy. Is there some way to get another copy of that?

I am in the process of moving and have misplaced my reg. papers. Is there some way to get another copy, without knowing the parents names or any of that info?
Answers:
You could contact the kennel club of your choice and request a duplicate copy of the papers if you can at least remember the dogs name of the date of births and maybe the breeder. Or contact the breeder and see if they can help you. On the other hand if you pup is from a pet store then your Snit out of luck. Chances are they don't keep any paper work beyond the day you give them your cash.
I keep copies of my papers in a file cabinet and one copy with my sister in another state. That way someone has a copy at all times.
do you remember the AKC registered name? If so and approximately when the dog was registered for a fee AKC will research and send new ones. I had to go thru this a few years ago.
If he's tattooed or microchipped you can trace it that way. Otherwise, you could try his full registered name, or your personal information.

Try going to www.akc.org and see if you can find contacts, maybe they can look up your records and send you new copies of the papers.
If you know the dogs name (the show name. For example, my dog's mother's name is Lucy, but her show name is My Elusive Dream Of Patchwork) then just call or email AKC and they will send another copy.
we're kind of in the same boat ,our pups mom and dads owners can't find their dogs papers so we still need papers on our pup,
You can go to http://www.ckcusa.com and ask them if they could furnish you a copy of your paperwork, but with AKC,you will probably have to know the parents names and date of birth of your pup and its name. All this can be done online ,or by e-mail.AKC is http://www.akc.org .
If it is the actual registration papers, then you would have to contact the registry and request that a duplicate be mail to your new address. If it was the puppy application (what you get when you purchase the puppy, and then fill out and send in to the registry) you will have to contact the breeder and have them contact the registry to request that a duplicate application be sent to you.
Just contact AKC and you'll have to pay Registration fee again.
