I have a rottweiler that has white on its chest, is it comon for the breed to have that?


Answers:
No, this mean that your rott is not a pure breed. I was crossed with something
White on a Rottweiler is a GENETIC DEFECT. If it is a patch, the dog should be spayed or neutered so as to NOT pass the gene.

If you have a FEW random white hairs, do not worry about it.

White patches on a Rottweiler are a SERIOUS FAULT according to the AKC Standard.

It is a fault (a disqualifying one in an AKC conformation show) and it is not desired. A few white hairs are fairly common, but the dog should not have a white patch or obvious white spot.
Are you sure that the dog is not a mix with anything else?
Our Rott is mixed with German Shepard, (75%rot)
so her coat is a little different than the breed standard and
her coloring is a little different than the standard, but we love her all the same.
The only time that white coloring would be normal if she's crossed with another breed or if its a mutation like the others said.
it's not common but it's nothing to be worried about. Maybe your dog is just a mix breed of something else :)
Its not uncommon %26 in no way is certain to mean shes a mix or anythign like that but if you were looking to show her per AKC standards she would not be eligible, as white on the rotty coat is considered a defect but as a pet ther is no problems.however is you are looking to breed her and produce papered puppies I would highly advise against it because as I said it is a defect in the coat %26 is not favored in the breed
