I have tried everything... How can i get flies off my dogs ears???

I have cleaned their living area every day, i bought fly traps, and put neosporin on his ears every day, and the flies keep landing on his ears and eating him alive. Anybody know any goooood remedies that keep the flies away or kills them?

I have the answer!

For years I tried EVERY remedy and product on the market. I live on a horse ranch and the flies were constantly eating my dogs ears.

I tried everything and this is what worked
PET-GUARD INSECTICDE GEL by
Virbac

What is fabulous about this product besides that it works is that it is clear, non gooey and after you put it on them for a few days it has some residual effects so that if you miss a day it is still working.
Buy some Perethrin at a local do it yourself pest control place. It comes n a spray bottle and pray it on your dog and trust me everything will check out inclduing the flys.
If it doesn't bug your dog's nose too much (some dogs are bugged more by this than others), put a tiny bit of vinegar on or around his ears. Do not put it IN his ears, of course. Flies can't stand vinegar.

If the vinegar does bug your dog, then take him to the vet and see what he says.
Go to a horse supply store and get a product named "Shield". You spray it right on the animal.
Take them to a vet and for about 20 dollars depending on how much the weigh, they will give you some medicine drops and it REALLY works.
Bag balm works real well also. The flies are usually around the ears and eyes for the moisture. You can coat the ears and under the eyes w/the bag balm. They use it on cows. Once the ears have healed from the fly bites you should be able to discontinue for a bit.
WHY do you keep your dog outside?

Does he live outside?

Why don't you spend some time wherever you keep him?

Live with him and you will see why flies are eating the poor dog up.

Maybe if you experience how the dog has to live, you won't make him live in such a bad environment.

Please find someone to give the dog to that will not make the guy live outside. What kind of life are you giving that dog?

HORSES live outside, not dogs.
Purchase Flys-Off from your pet store. It is our number one seller in the summer time. It comes in a spray for their body (like bug spray for pets) and a cream for sores like you are describing. It will help heal the sores and keep the flys off their ears. If I remember correctly it runs about $10-$12. Good luck!

There are 2 products I use one Tom I already suggested also there is a product call Fly Off also found where they sell horse and farm supplies.
Both work wonderfully!
