Answers:
just if he tries to bite you get a gentle muzzle and also get a friend that he knows to put a leash on him to hold him and reasure him it is easier to do this when he is tired if you have time to walk him a lot just walk him on the concrete or road (dont get run over) it will naturally trim his nails also you could try after during and before give him treat and have your friend jiggle the leash a bit to distact him he could just be scared that its gonna hurt if you make sure to not cut the quick then he will relize that its not gonna hurt him and will calm down you can do all thease at once if hes really bad hope i helped
definately take him to a local groomer or vet to be done! they seem to have special techniques... it is well worth the $5 :p
take him to the groomers...their perfetionals
Try doing it after he has been on a long walk or tired out from playing. If you do a little at a time until he gets used to it
Have to agree with the others: Take the dog to the groomer. If you have a petsmart near you, go there. They are great!
yes that is a big problem with many dog owners. after you cut the nails give him a treat. or ask your vet or gromer do it. leave the problem to them :P
Walk him more. I walk my dogs twice a day for a total of about 2 miles a day and their nails never need cutting.
wait until he's asleep...that usually works ,unless your dog likes to bite you when you wake them up.then take them to the vet or some low cost clinic to get trimmed
Well, you can have your veterinarian or groomer do it for you - for a price.

Or, you can walk your dog more wherever there is pavement, concrete, etc.

Good Luck
I have trouble with my dog too.
What I do is take her to a local groomer.
They get it done in about 2 min.
Good luck!!
you should take him to a groomer or let the vet do it the next time you are there... but if you're taking your dog for regular walks on pavement... you won't need to cut his nails anymore
Take him to a groomer and be there when they are attempting this. If you get vein it would start bleeding and you would freak out. Believe me, I know.

Hmmm...so now my dogs go to the groomer to get their nails cut.

It's well worth the 12 bucks for 2 dogs.
Take him to the groomers or the vet. I just went to the vet to get some shots for my dog, and they clipped his nails wile he was there.
Ask the Vet if you can give him Benedryl to calm/relax him-------or have the Vet trim his nails for you.
if you walk him more, his nails won't need to be cut. as a dog walks, he slowly wears down his nails to a healthy and suitable length. that way you save $, get exercise, and don't have to fight him with the nail trimmer!
or go to your vet and ask him the proper way to cut a dog/s nails so the dog is comfortable. you don't have to schedule an appointment, b/c it's just a question, and she/he'd be happy to tell or show you. plus it doesn't cost $ either!
Mine would do the same thing. He'd run away and he didn't like having his feet touched. what I did first was get him use to the clippers. I'd actually get him in a room to where he couldn't run out, make him lay on his side and put the clippers in front of him, on him, place them buy his feet, touch his feet/nails with them, and then slowly after he got use to all that, I'd start off by clipping them a little at a time . He got use to it all and now does fine. Also rewarding him after wards is a great idea. He won't give you as much trouble because he'll learn that he'll get a treat for letting you do this. Hope this helps you out.
