I need help with choosing a toy dog?

i have looked at the chihuahua, but it's so fragile cuz it's so small. i looked at the maltipoo next, but it's abit bigger than i want..i think.. they dont now for sure what size the malitpoo grow to be. i want them as small as possible, and there might not be available in my country.

-has to be small
-look good, i dont like how the jack russel looks, i want something pretty.
-not too high maintence
-not too fragile, and not too prone to illnesses
-maybe not too yappy?

thanks so much in advance.
Answers:
Try a Bichon Frise, they are a sturdy amiable small breed. Not yappy either. Do require some coat maintenance however.
With the maltipoo, that is a mixed breed and nobody is going to guarantee finished size.
Get a reputable breeder (BTW anyone breeding maltipoos or other mixes is NOT a reputable breeder) or - better yet - try the shelter or petfinder.
Why don't you check out a cockapoo or a pomeranian.
A pomeranian, toy poodle, or pug would be perfect for you.

Please do not get mixed breeds like malitpoos. It only encourages these backyard breeders to breed more abused mutts. If you want a mutt go to your local shelter and get a pound puppy.
toy poodles are the greatest! one of the people that answered this question stated that all dogs shed, well they don't! Here are the benifits of a toy poodle:
-non shedding breed
-don't yap to much
-very loving and bonding
-just make sure they are groomed once a month and brushed every day
-don't get sick to easy
-love people
-are th second smartest breed and mine is on the desk sleeping right now!
also yorkipoo's are adorable like the poodle they don't shed and are small!
English Toy Terriers (known as Manchester Toy Terriers in the USA) are a lovely breed of dog - they look a bit like mini-dobermans but have a personality which is a mix of terrier and lapdog.
They are very low maintenance, less fragile than other Toy breeds and tend to have calmer temperaments than some other Toys. I think they're very pretty, but it's a subjective concept :)
I have a chihuahua and believe me, he's anything but fragile!!! He's a tough little guy who thinks he can take on the world, but also very loving and devoted to me. He loves to be held and cuddled, but also plays hard and furious with his toys. I also have a Yorkie who is 6 lbs. I keep her trimmed so she is low maintanence and very pretty. She is also very loving. Neither of them are yappers unless there is something to yap at.like a knock at the door.
