Feed her top quality food, Royal Canin or Innova Evo or similar. Nothing from the grocery store.

You should not need to add supplements to her diet as long as she is eating good food. Make sure the kibble is small enough for her. Royal Canin makes a small dog formula.

Bathe her with DOG shampoo, not human shampoo. Dog ph is different than human ph. There are salon quality dog shampoos, some are scented. Look at http://www.petedge.com or http://www.drsfostersmith.com/

Careful with perfume...dog's have super sensitive noses and eyes. A clean well kept dog should not smell bad.

Keep her nails clipped short and make sure she get exercise and obedience training. Do not carry her everywhere.

If she gets dry coat, you can get a coat supplement from the vet. Ask the vet about brushing her teeth or google it so you can learn how to brush them daily. Chihuahuas can die from heart disease brought on by bad teeth.

Also have her knees checked by an orthopedic vet to make sure her patellas are good. Many Toy breeds have bad knees that require surgery...waiting can cripple the dog.

You can bathe her weekly, BUT use very mild shampoo and rinse extremely well. Also only use tepid, not warm water and keep the soap away from her eyes...you can put ointment in her eyes to protect them and cotton balls in her ears. Clean ears and clip nails on bath day.
LOL... don't use human products on her.
Dog shampoos will make her coat shiny.. and yeah. Hill climb with her. Everyone packs on muscle when they walk or run against gravity. don't carry her in your bag though!
Don't use human products on her, especially the VS spray. It has alcohol in it and can maker her skin flaky, dry and itchy, which is not at all attractive. Also it is very possible to over bathe. Short haired dogs should really only be bathed a max of every month or two. You can give her vitamin e to help her coat shine, and there are products made for dogs to help her smell good. Go to petco or another similar store and they have a lot of shampoos and sprays made for dogs that won't irritated her sensitive skin. Get her a personal trainer for her thighs! LOL.
Hi i8, Don't use any of your products on your pup. She may have a reactions from something that is in some of those products. They have all sorts of shampoos for puppy and dogs. They also have sprays for dogs to make then smell good. For a nice shinny coat they have dry dog foods out for shinny coats. It should be on the front of the bag. Yes taking her for a lot of walks and playing ball will make her have stronger muscles and bones. Have a lot of fun with your pup and love her and take good care of her. LOL.
A Friend.

Bathing a chi alot is not good on there skin and fur .You are taking away the oils that a dog needs to have heathy skin and fur.You should only bath once a month.Go to a vet to get a good shampoo never use human shampoo's on a dog.
i think ur crazy do u want ur dog to be allegric or have skin rash what are u thinking just go to petco and by the cologene for ur dog, please don;t use any human product on ur chihuhua just take her for walkz
NO!!!! A dog is NOT a baby or a doll ... so please use only dog products on them. Also, they will always smell like dogs 10 minutes after bathing so if you want the smell of flowers around your place, buy yourself a bunch of flowers. Also, you must NOT bath a dog more than once a month or it will certainly get dry skin that might need medical treatment.

No building up muscles either - walks twice a day will be great and will do you good as well. Concentrate on building up your own muscles if you must!
