how is the mother reacting to the puppy? is she still trying to tend to it? sometimes a mother dog will reject a sick puppy to and only attend to the healthy ones but not always. you can buy the milk and the bottle but thats no guarantee that you can get the puppy to drink. i would take the puppy to the vet and have it looked at. it might have something that can affect the other dogs or it could just be weak. at any rate it should see a vet.
CALL YOUR VET!
Call your vet. If it's very tiny you may need to tube feed it. This is difficult, but can be done. I have done it with kittens and Chihuahua puppies. It works much better than bottle feeding with tiny babies such as this.

The puppy is fading fast. To save it's life it need help right away. Call your vet and say you are on your way it's an emergency. Don;t just wait for an appointment.
Hello %26 yes you can use a puppy formula %26 bottle ( the puppy may take it or it may not, never good to force feed tho UNLESS you really know what you're doing or it can kill ) I would buy formula from a vet or ask a VET what is best ( tho some pet stores carry puppy formula - am not sure what is best ) but no guarantee's it will work..now you know why only breeders should breed cuz this is a common occurance in small breed dogs..the process is 24 hours a day, about every hour as well for some 4 weeks @ least ..if the mom is nursing the other puppies without any problems or signs of stress ..then once you get the puppy strong enough to nurse, then you can try %26 re-intoduce her back to mom..forgot to add ..when bottle feeding, you must also gently wipe the dogs butt with a warm cloth to make him potty..just as the mama dogs do with their tongues or the dog will get sick !!Take Care :)
Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but. you can by puppy replacer, but as a rule of thumb, let mother nature do her work. Probably a visit to the vet would be best. The can assess and tell you what is wrong. Limp is not good. Probably dehydrated if it hasn't been nursing and may be beyond help.
yes, most vet clinics carry puppy formula and a special bottle for you. You should call your vet and see if you can get some from them. Also they will be able to tell you how much to feed and how often, as well as show you the best way to do it. The pup needs to be seen by a vet asap as well to assess it's condition- it may need to go in the incubator for a couple hours to warm it up as well. Good Luck, but PLEASE, PLEASE call the vet and see if they can help you out!
you can pick up the milk with a small bottle and feed them every 2 hours.sounds like the runt of the litter we can see it nor smell it but some times they are born sick and mom will reject them your going to have to feed him and make him poop or pee use a wet rag and wipe them down there till they go.you can do this untill either he starts to feed on mom or look for the worst to happen he will die I have had plenty of litters and I have tryed many time to save some do and some don't this is nature you might want to go to the vets too they can give out IV to biuld them up and tell you better ways to try to save him good luck and god bless there souls
If it's limp, it's likely dehydrated.. You should seek help from the vet.. Keep the puppy warm and keep trying.. You don't want to force liquid down into a puppy that is too weak to swallow, you could end up drowning it.
If anything while you are waiting to get into the vet, get a dropper and put like 1 little drop on the tongue.. See if you can get her energized enough to get her moving around and trying. You'll need the vet tho to help you get her rehydrated.. This is serious if a puppy gets dehydrated.. They only have a little moisture in that little body and if it's not being replaced then it needs to be added by the vet. If you don't do something immediately, you are going to find she has died by morning likely.
The actual bottle feeding process is really quite simple. First mix the formula and be sure that it is mixed well and without clumps as otherwise will cause the formula's nutrients to not be dispersed well and also bottle nipple will plug. While the formula is cooling to room temperature make sure you puppy is lying on his or her belly.

Gently insert the nipple into the puppy's mouth. If you're puppy doesn't take the nipple directly let a small drop fall on his or her mouth and with an extremely gentle prying motion open your puppies mouth and insert the nipple that way. Once the nipple is in place your puppy should take to the nipple and begin sucking naturally.

Be careful to not overfeed your puppy, play it safe and allow them to only drink a little less than they desire. Overfeeding can result in a number issues that can be detrimental to your puppies health that may require veterinary assistance to correct. It is always better to feed a lesser amount but increase the frequency of feeding sessions.

Just as with a human infant, puppies need to be burped too. At the end of a feeding session hold your puppy upright against your shoulder and gently pat his or her back. By doing so you will decrease the likelihood that your puppy's belly will bloat and will lower the chances for your puppy to become colicky.
Please call your vet and ask him. There should be no charge for advice on the telephone. You could save the puppy's life by making the call.

Yes, you can force feed him. He is the runt. My mother bottle feed 3 puppy's. You can buy a bottle at the pet store and a special kind of milk to feed it, in the meantime it wont hurt to give him some skim milk in a straw and feed him that way for now.
Get it to the vet fast..It might have parvo, and it doesnt need with the other puppies..Good luck..If it isnt too far gone, you may be able to bottle feed it..I just hope it got the first milk(colostrum) from its Mommy...
Its best that the mother feed the pup the first few weeks. You can bottle feed if you need to, but they are not getting the same neutriants (I worked at a vets office). You should take mama dog and the pups to see the vet ASAP to make sure that everything is ok. A good sign that something is wrong would be the mother ignoring this pup. Animals are able to tell when their young are not going to survive, if this is the situation you may have to care for the pup. If mom is feeding the pup and cleaning it like the others it may just be the runt of the litter. Best to go to your vet though, just to make sure that they are all healthy and going to be ok.
A very very common birth defect with the cleft palate. If this is the case you will have to gavage.
