I know a pet owner who hits her dog with her hand isn't there a high possibilty that the dog may bite her one

Why is she hitting it?
Unless the dog feels very threatened, he may bite her. She shouldn't be hitting her dog in the first place. She obviously doesnt know how to take care of a dog. I hope the dog bites her, though.
It depends on the dog, and her attitude when she hits the dog, if she makes the dog feel overly threatened, he may bite... she should be safe as long as she doesn't like back him into a corner or something.

The person is going to create a fearful dog and NEVER gain it's trust. And YES! she could eaily be bitten.
Gently suggest she go to a training class and learn positive training! It will make a world of difference to both of them.

I hope so. what in training makes people think it is ok to hit their pets? a properly trained animal will obey and a pet owner who thinks hitting will train their dog is only teaching their animal to fear them and fear aggression will emerge and the animal will and as it should lash out at them. man why are people too lazy to take on the responsiblity of a pet. it drives me mad!
If the dog doesn't bite her it should!! She should not be hitting that poor dog for any reason. The dog would be much better off placed in a new home.Hope she doesn't have kids or plans to. Maybe she should go to some anger management classes...
I'm ok with the swatting with the rolled up newspaper, which to me is more symbolic to a dog than an actual threat. It is unfair to the dog to be smacked as a punishment and one day the dog will meet force with force. I have a friend who doesn't have her dog fixed, he tries to hump everything in sight, and her and her husband smack him with a flip flop (among other things) when he does it, although he's only doing what nature intended, he doesn't understand that it's inappropriate. The poor thing is hand shy.

This person does not deserve a dog plain %26 simple, If any person cannot be bothered walking there dog, taking to the vets when needed, or just smacking it for the hell of it they don't deserve the love a dog can give.

You do not have to hit a dog to make it understand. any person should treat there dog with the respect, they would themselves expect off someone.

It takes a lot for a dog to attack but it will get tired of being mistreated %26 then will start to fight back.

She needs to be reported to the correct authorities %26 the dog removed from her home so someone could adopt the dog %26 give it a loving home before she does some major harm to this poor dog.

yes there is a high possibility!! Only though because the dog is being abused! end this, now. people can got to jail for that.
The poor dog may bite her, or it may never bite her and instead become an emotional mess, cowering every time the woman comes near it. Have you reported her yet? If not, why not?
