I just found out my 10mos old lab got an eye infection. Is it possible he could have got it from the park?

I recently have been taking him to the park where other dogs go. He does occasionally meet other dogs - usually the same ones we meet on our walks. Do u know if this is contagious? The vet said he could have got a parasite.
Answers:
Dogs get pinkeye (conjunctivitis - technically an inflammation/infection of the conjunctiva - the thin skin covering the eye) in much the same way humans get a common cold, it is caused by a virus (or rather caused by many different viruses) which "settles" in that area.
It could have been passed on by sharing a water bowl or even another dog sneezing on him.
You will want to keep him away from other dogs for a few days; also my vet always tells me to put the drops in the other eye a couple of times as well as a prophylactic measure.
he could've gotten it anywhere
Eye infections can be caused by something as simple as dust in the eye, or even a scratch from grass/weeds. Let your vet figure out what sort of infection it is, and treat it so your dog will be comfortable and not risk his vision.
