I just got a 6 month old dog. she hasnt peed in 24 hours. she hasnt eaten a whole lot either. any suggestions?

Take her for walks and calm her. Let her know that you love her and settle her nerves. Some dogs will not pee away from home... she doesn't realize she IS home. I have had dogs refuse to go for 2 days when we go to shows. She will relax. Also some dogs that are used to going in a fenced in yard or whatever will not go on a leash if they aren't used to it. She will eat soon. I think she is just a little confused right now about whats going on with her life.
If things don't change with in 24 more hours, have her checked by your vet to make sure she is OK.
When she drinks, watch her and makes sure. If nothing happens, go to your vet.
I might give your vet or the place where you got her a call though.

She's probably fine if she's drinking water.

READ THIS IMMEDIATELY!

MY PET DIED OF THIS 3 MONTHS AGO! GO TO THE EMERGENCY VET THAT IS OPEN ON SUNDAY!

your dog is suffering from sepsis (can't spell sorry) and kidney failure. Immediately take that pet to the veterinarian or he WILL DIE! His temperature will drop and you will have to say goodbye! please do this now!
possible infection or blockage should have a vet look at her theyll know for sure.
better get him in the veterinarian fast
What do you mean you just got the dog have you only had her for 24 hours or a little more. If so was she with a family she misses.

I would call a vet there should be an emergency vet if yours isn't open on the weekend. It never hurts to call and ask and it doesn't cost any money to ask.
has this puppy had it's parvo shots?...or any of it's shots for that matter?

little thing COULD be scared *in a new place* and nervous about that...OR sick.
get it to a vet and have it examined.

get her shots! esp. parvo!
it's a $12 shot now, or thousands of dollars to try and cure the parvo (if she contracts it)..if she lives through it.
Well your dog might be sick. Although if she drinks then see if she goes out to pee, if she does keep an eye on her. But you should probably still take her to the vet afterwords. If she doesn't she may have a stomach or intestine or bladder problem, try taking her to the vet.
GET HER TO THE VET!!!! she may have a kidney infection or failure. Do NOT wait. I almost lost my dog for this same reason when he was a puppy. But with antibiotics and and care he was ok in a couple of days mean while i took some bread and dipped it in water and fed it to him and i put some canned food in a dish and added water to it too. But he was sick and if i would have waited he would have died.
When you say "just got" what do you mean? 24 hrs? and where did the dog come from? Shelter?

It is possible that your dog is dealing with the new surroundings and people in her life and will come around on her own.

What are you feeding her? Is she used to a better food than what you are giving her? Try a good quality food like this one

Good healthy food is always better for any dog.

Keep an eye on her. If she doesn't change, take her to the vet. There could be something wrong with her.
Yes. Get her to a vet pronto. This happened to my sister's cat %26 she found out he had diabetes. She waited a long time before taking him in %26 he almost died. He was in the hospital a week %26 cost her a fortune.
Are you sure your dog isn't going in the house but you haven't found it? Some berber carpets can concel dog urine for a day or two before the stain shows up.

Never hurts to take your dog to the vet either, especially since you just got it and it should have a checkup ASAP anyhow.
It's possible that she peed and you just didn't notice. She probably hasn't eaten much because she's stressed out (new environment and all).
If she's mentally comfortable in her new home, you have a sick dog on your hands. Seek medical attention as soon as you can.
There could be many possibilities as to why your pet isn't eating, it could be the pets health or just the the dog is scared due to the new surroundings. The best thing to do is to take your dog to the vet and have him/her checked out, just to be on the safe side. Puppies are very susceptible to infection and diseases, like parvo which is very common, because puppies haven't had all of there shots yet to help fight off infection.
Take her to the vet. Something is wrong. She could have a blockage. 6month old puppies pee every 4-5 hours at least unless they have had an excessive amount of water. But not to pee for that length of time something is wrong.
I'd get her to the vet asap. There are lots of things that she could have, and none are good! She could be septic, have a UTI, have a blockage somewhere, of kidney problems. At the very least she's probably dehydrated
