i just got her yesterday, and when i got home i noticed that her eyes are glossy and kind of red.it looks like she is crying sometimes.when i pet near her eyes, i get some of the liquid on my fingers, and it feels kind of sticky.not really sticky, just a little.is this normal for my dog, or do you KNOW if this is something i should worry about?

I have 4 Chihuahua's. One has runny eyes because his eyes are large, but it's never sticky.
Any new pet should always be taken to a vet within 48 hours of getting it just to make sure all is well. Just because it's up to date on shots does not mean it may not have some other problem. Chances are all is fine, but it's up to you to make sure.
Could be anything, hon. Take her to the vet tomorrow... anything from allergies, to eyelids that are turning in, scratching her cornea, and will (if this is what it is ) cause eventual blindness...Again, take her to the vet
Chihuahuas often have watery eyes, but the tears should not be sticky. As she is your new puppy, I am sure you are going to have her checked by a vet this week, so just have the vet check it out when she goes in.
Congratulations on your new puppy!
Have you had her into the vet for her first check-up and shots? If not, you need to do that within the next day or two. While you're there ask them about it. In the mean time, don't pet her near her eyes. You could be further irritating them.
she needs to be wormed, defleaed and immunised.
when you take her to the vet for these things (sooner the better), ask the vet about her eyes.
.
My mom has too chihuahuas, and they both did the same thing the girl was much worse I think it's a common thing (her dogs were 2 years old when she got them) I think that maybe she's nervous in new surroundings, or could possibly miss her old ones, but she will come around give her enough attention not too much to make her uncomfortable, she will come around.
it could just be irritation to dust or dry air. If the stuff coming from her eyes in a yellowish color, then definitly consult your vet because this could mean there is an infection. but it is natural for dog to sucreet from there eyes.
