I have a dog her name is jecica and she has been coghing up blood what should i do?

I would think the presence of blood tells you what to do. It may not be an emergency but a professional needs to see the pet. No one can tell you anything here without seeing the pet.

take it to the vet. was she coughing for a while before there was blood? it might just be something as simple as really bad kennel cough and the lungs are just irritated.
Well... If I were to see a dog coughing up blood.. I would be concerned.. I would think either something was very wrong, or she had gotten something stuck in her throat... Then I would think ... You know what, this sounds like a job for Super Vet! He knows what to do... Then I would be out the door and on my way and with his super powers, he could fix my dog.. You should do the same thing.
call a vet, your dog could have an ulcer, or swallowed something that cut her digestive tract, either way you need to seek help soon

Well I would think this is a no brainier! Get the dog to the vets. She may have a ulcer of a obstruction in the throat or many other things.
Your vet needs to see her right away.
Coughing up blood can be deadly and should be treated as an emergency. Get the dog tot he vet ASAP!! Good Luck.
There is only 1 responsible thing to do right now,... take her to your vet. How long has this been going on? What is her age? Does she have a heart condition? What does she eat? Where does she live? Has she been exposed to a bordetella virus? Has she ever been dewormed? Does she swim in rivers, lakes or ponds? Probably the most important question for your sake is, How far are you able/can you afford to investigate this? Your vet may want to do bloodwork, radiographs, a fecal, or an Echocardiogram or ECG, place her in hospital on IV fluids. In an ideal world, there would be federally funded pet health, but since there is not, you will have to decide how much you can spend. It is a sad question, but if you cannot afford to find out or fix her, then perhaps you may need to consider putting her down. I would strongly suggest having a vet take a look at her first, don't let her life go for fear of what it will cost, find out first! Good luck, and I hope she gets better.

A dog can't be gay. If a male dog likes other male dogs it's just trying to be dominant over another male dog. Trying to rule the territory he's in. Dogs will do this to show who's sorta like the boss of the area. Just as when the mark their territory when peeing on something. Every time you walk your dog and he smells another dog's scent on that spot your dog goes on that same spot thus leaving his scent there and letting other dogs that now he's in charge. My younger male dog humps my older dog all the time but he doesn't get to stay that way for long cause the older one growls and that's that. It's for dominance not because they are gay for pitty's sake what next.

i really don't understand your train of thought. but definitely get him neutered. it prevents unwanted litters of puppies and decreases sexual desire almost totally. my dog is neutered, he's very active and i never have embarrassing moments at the dog park.

What breed is your dog? Some dogs shed more than others.
To help with the shedding you can feed a high quality dog food and brush you dog often.
brush her as much as you can,at least once a day, along with regular baths.since its summer you can take her and have her groomed and that will help too!!!
Brush it a LOT...and give her baths...you can also try taking her to a groomer so that they could cut the fur..or possibly shave o.O
Constant brushing is the key to shedding dogs. They shed their winter coat come spring so try to get a dog comb to try to get at the undercoat. Do this a few times a week. Hopefully that will help :)
I have two shedders and I give them a bath every Sunday. My man wears a lot of nice clothes for work and we noticed that with these baths, no more hair. I also use baby wipes in between baths and wipe them down. The wipes seem to catch a lot of the loose hair on top.
Brushing is good, and I see it has been recommended. Besides regular brushing, you might want to check her skin condition. Bathing is good too but if she suffers from dry skin, you won't want to bathe her as often. Also, make sure she eats a quality food with appropriate vitamins and minerals. Try adding flax seed oil to her food, she will love it !!
i got a manx cat which sheds endlessly. the vet gave me fish oil pills to feed to her. the oil helps keep their skin from drying out so much and after about a month she sheds only a fraction of what she did.

Incontinence can be a problem... get her some of those doggy panties and put in the panty liners... Some dogs love them... I make them but my dogs will NOT wear them but my girl friends airedale likes hers... go figure

i have a 5 yr old female boxer that has the same problem. I was so nervous that it was something really bad, that I procrastinated taking her to the vet. BUT, basically it is a common thing in (usually adult) female dogs that have been spayed. Later in life they develop this type of incontinence or "leaking". Kylie (my dog!) used to always leak in her sleep, awake, etc. but she is now on an easy-to-administer medication for it. It is called Proin. Fairly inexpensive as far as pet meds go and it works perfectly! They are chewable. This is her first month on it and no leaking!! (except that one day i forgot to give it to her!)

Is your Doberman spayed? If so, I would bet she suffers from a very common ailment that affects Spayed, Female Dobermans. It is called urinary incontinence.
I have had 5 Dobe females and 3 of the 5 have suffered from urinary incontinence. While there are several causes for incontinence, the most common one veterinarians see is in spayed Dobe females. Typically, leaking will occur while sleeping or relaxed.
It is important that a complete workup of the urinary tract be performed prior to beginning any therapy for incontinence. But it is treatable. All my affected females have been on a med called Diethylstilboestrol or DES -- 1mg/day every 3-5 days. I know of others who are treated through the use of Phenylpropanolamine HCl -- which doesn't appear to be working well for your girl. Ask your vet about changing to DES. It's costly, but worth it!
My female Australian Shepherd has tried both Proin and DES. Our Vet had her on different doses of the two drugs. One without the other, and both drugs at the same time..she still leaks at times.
I then decided to use a cotton/fabric diaper/with a maxi pad (usually used for female dogs in heat). When she's in the house, on goes her "Undies". When she hears us say "undies" she goes right between my legs and let's me put on the diaper. She's very good about it.in fact, I have a lot of different colours/patterns of "undies" for her..an alternate to medication.

The way Dachshund hunt for their master, is by going into the den/cave/ground/hole of Badger and Fox (Smaller Dachshund, like the Kaninchenteckel or the Mini Dachshund go for Bunnies).
Barking is DESIRED in this breed. It's the important part of this hunting Hound.

Btw, an "Quick Fix" an easy way to discourage a Dachshund from barking is to use a metal can (Coffee Can), filled with about 10 pennies.

Dog continues to bark -> shake can twice (Hide can behind your back - praise if dog stops barking).
The idea is simple: The dog does not like the sound. He/she affiliates that if he/she barks, an unpleasant noise/sound is triggers. Dog realizes quickly, no bark no funky sound.
And remember: Praise is the key, not correction!
Just correction may work for the moment, but praise means "This is what I want, good job, I am proud of you."
Never punish a dog for a mistake ... they learn nothing from it.
PS: No, Dachshund are not dominant/protective.
That's stereotyping. Well raised Dachshund do not show aggressions (Commonly confused with being "protective"), and dominant acting dogs shall be trained, as it is a behavioral problem, if it is expressed toward people.
Again, Dachshund bark because they were CREATED to do so. They are vocal hunting dogs.
Hounds bark, bay, howl.
A breed trade is not a behavioral problem, but it shall always be taught to a dog when it can and can't use it's trades.
ok,its not a puppy anymore. I've seen ppl use squirt bottles or waterguns on dogs to surprise them into not barking. Watch the Dog Whisperer on National Geographic. he deals with this problem all the time. Usually just a quick poke in the side and a sharp "SHHT" sound is a good discipline to stop barking.
my dog does the same thing here are many duggestions. a shock collar or a muzzle.cheaper ways. yell at him whe n he does this spray him with a water gun,or hit his butt.the last 3 work great

I work at a dog daycare and one of the things that we do is carry a water sprayer around with us. When a dog barks we spray them, and make a ssss't noise. By doing this they are associating the ssss't noise with the water sprayer. Eventually I find that over time they will become quiet just by showing the bottle, or making the ssss't sound. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: keep consistency. This is the reason why most animals become problems: they are not punished consistently (Punished as in the ssss't and the water bottle). The nice thing I find about water is that it is harmless, and does not harm must surfaces. Unfortunately it shouldn't be used with electronics, but I have a feeling you know that. I have a daschound as well and he barks at everything that he sees in his yard .I think it's a territorial thing with these dogs. You could try to use a squirt bottle with water in it and give him a little squirt when he barks if you want to stop him ,It doesn't bother me .
